News » Kimberly schools could face budget shortfall
Jan. 27, 2009 The Kimberly school district could go from having a budget surplus, to fixing a shortfall. Superintendent Bob Mayfield says it all depends on state aid, and officials didn't get promising news from Gov. Doyle last week. Doyle told them they shouldn't expect to receive their typical cost of living increase, because of the state's budget situation.
Mayfield says that could leave a hole in the district's budget, between $600,000 and $700,000. He says with the normal school aid increase, the district could have had an extra $500,000. He says they would have used that money to improve education. |
