2009 A-F Sports Trivia Contest
Information

The first annual A-F sports trivia contest fundraiser to benefit the boys youth basketball club. Saturday October 24th.

Entry Deadline: October 9th.
Teams will consist of 1,2,3 or 4 players.
30 teams will be the maximum number allowed.
Entry fee:$100

There will 50 questions per 4 categories:
-NFL
-NBA
-MLB
-NCAA football/basketball

Teams will be seated at tables, questions will be read with a microphone.

1:30 minutes per question will be allowed.

Each category taking roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes with a 15 minute break in between each category.

Payouts and prizes will be awarded upon conclusion of contest.
We will be having pork sandwiches through the day. Free beer after prizes and payouts are awarded.

Start time: 10:00 AM
Location: Cedar Shack (Hwy 13, Adams WI)

Seafood Fest is a popular community event and a joint project of the Neenah, Menasha and Fox Cities Morning Rotary Clubs. Lobster and salmon dinners are the signature of the event, but plenty of other seafood and non-seafood choices are available, as well as live music by popular area bands. All proceeds from the event support projects and organizations in our great community.

Ten teams from the Midwest and beyond will converge on Green Bay for Thunda on the Tundra. The Brewcity Bruisers of Milwaukee and PMI Entertainment Group are hosting the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association’s (WFTDA) North Central Region Playoffs, "Thunda on the Tundra," September 10-12 at the Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena.

There will be 17 bouts in all – 6 on Friday, 6 on Saturday and 5 on Sunday. The ten teams playing in these bouts will showcase the top level of talent in women’s flat track roller derby in the North Central Region.

Each fall, the WFTDA organizes four regional qualifier tournaments to determine who will compete in November’s national championship. The top ten teams in each of the four regions compete in the playoffs and the top three from each tournament move on to vie for 1st place.

They will be walking the entire 83 miles from Wausau to Green Bay to raise money to be used by The Military Support Group for care packages for our brave men and women overseas. We want them to know that we have not forgotten the sacrifice they are making each and every day to make the world a better place for all of us.

Hailey Chada, 7 year old daughter of Steve and Jessie Chada of Denmark, suffers from Extensive Venous Malformations, which requires that they travel to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital on a regular basis for treatments. Venous malformations comprise either superficial or deep veins that are abnormally formed and dilated. The walls of these vessels are thin because they lack smooth muscle. They are the most common type of vascular malformation. Although they usually are present at birth, they may not be seen until years later. The natural history of a venous malformation is slow, steady enlargement. However, events such as surgery, trauma, infection, or hormonal changes may cause rapid expansion of malformations. These lesions may be present in the skin, mucous membrane or in any organ system, including the brain, bowel, liver, or spleen. Currently, there is no cure for this disease. Hailey also suffers from Coagulopathy a clotting defect in which bleeding does not stop in the usual time period; a pathologic condition that affects the ability of the blood to coagulate; A disorder in which blood is either too slow or too quick to coagulate; due to having the malformations. She has been undergoing procedures every two to three months for control of her lesions and associated pain.

Skyline Comedy Café and Kimberly Clark Corporation have teamed up to show that a lot can be accomplished through laughter. More than being “the best medicine,” laughter is proving a powerful tool in raising awareness and funds for vital nonprofit organizations in Northeast Wisconsin that heavily rely on corporate and community donations.

Northeast Wisconsin’s longest-established comedy club and Kimberly Clark will host “Comedy For A Cause”—a night of laughs featuring national headliner, Comedy Central’s John Roy and benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fox Valley Region. Tickets to the event are $10, and all proceeds from tickets sold by Kimberly Clark will go to fund programs and services of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
